Fan & Duct Parts Fabrication at Vidhee Eng. Works
Air cannot move effectively unaided; it must be directed, formed and controlled by parts designed to do just that. That is what our duct fabrication services provide. Whether we're creating custom fan components for a high-performance computer cooling system, a drone propulsion frame or a massive industrial HVAC ventilation system, we design and make duct and fan parts to route, steer and accelerate airflow.
Airflow behaves very differently from one system to another, and generic, off-the-shelf parts don't always suit the fluid dynamics of your system. As seasoned fan part manufacturers, we design parts around the actual airflow behaviour and pressure-drop requirements of your system, rather than forcing your design to fit around parts that were never meant for it.
Whether you're looking for a simple duct part or something more complex, such as a transformer fan part, our team has the expertise to deliver precise fabrication backed by an understanding of how the component performs in real airflow conditions. After all, a duct or fan part that looks good on paper can perform poorly in real-world airflow if it is not engineered correctly.

What Is Fan & Duct Parts Fabrication?
Fan and duct parts fabrication involves designing and manufacturing components that control the movement of air within a system – directing air where it is needed, shaping the airflow to suit the interfaces of different equipment, and reducing energy losses from turbulence, friction and leakage along the way.
It is not confined to a particular industry or application. Whether you are creating ductwork for a commercial building HVAC system, a fan shroud for an industrial cooling system or specialised ductwork for electronics and drone platforms, the same basic engineering principles apply. The material, tolerances and geometry may differ between these applications, but the goal remains the same: proper fluid dynamics, minimal pressure drop and reliable long-term performance.
As the need for efficient air movement grows in manufacturing, HVAC and industrial applications, custom fabrication is becoming the norm rather than the exception wherever performance matters.
Core Components in Fan & Duct Systems
Fan Shrouds & Enclosures
Fan shrouds and enclosures are housings designed specifically around industrial axial or centrifugal impellers. They do more than cover the fan: the gap between the blade tips and the surrounding wall affects the fan's performance. A well-designed shroud fits closely around the fan, reducing airflow resistance and noise and so making the fan more efficient and quieter.
Transitions
Transitions are specialist fittings that change an airflow path from one cross-sectional shape to another without needless velocity loss. The geometry of a transition piece matters as much as the straight duct sections it connects, because the point where two differently shaped components meet can create significant turbulence and pressure loss unless it is designed correctly.
Elbows and Plenums
Elbows (bends) and plenums (mixing boxes) are used to direct air around obstacles such as structural beams, other equipment or tight spaces. The critical engineering issue here is the radius of the bend. Gradually rounded elbows let the air flow more smoothly, without creating abrupt, turbulent eddies that rob the airflow of energy.
Primary Fabrication Materials
The material chosen has a major effect on how a fan or duct component performs, not only structurally but also in terms of corrosion resistance, weight and suitability for the environment in which it will be used.
Galvanised Steel
Galvanised steel is the most widely used material for ductwork in commercial and industrial HVAC systems in India, and for good reason. It offers high corrosion resistance and is a reliable, cost-effective choice for most general ventilation and airflow applications.
Stainless Steel (304/316 Grade)
In more challenging environments, stainless steel (usually 304 or 316 grade) is the material of choice. It is essential in cleanrooms, laboratories, commercial kitchens and marine electronics applications, where components face harsh conditions or must withstand moisture, caustic chemical fumes or extreme temperatures. Where hygiene, chemical resistance or durability in harsh environments is critical, stainless steel is usually the safer choice.
Plastics & Composites (PETG / ABS / FRP)
Plastics and composite materials such as PETG, ABS, and FRP are a viable alternative to metal fabrication for lightweight applications like electronics cooling, consumer products, or prototypes. These materials can be processed by methods such as 3D printing or injection moulding, allowing complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible to produce by traditional methods, particularly where production speed or low weight matters.
Critical Design & Engineering Factors
Accurate dimensions alone are not enough to design good fan and duct parts for a system; the underlying aerodynamic and structural behaviour of the system must also be understood.
Aero-Efficiency
Abrupt changes in a duct or fitting cause high friction loss and quietly rob the system of its efficiency. The key to well-performing custom transitions is to keep divergence angles below 20 degrees, so that the air flows smoothly (laminar) rather than through abrupt changes of shape that create turbulence.
Seam Integrity
Air leakage is one of the quickest ways to undermine the performance of a well-designed system. To avoid it, fabricators use tight mechanical locks, such as Pittsburgh locks or snap locks, at the longitudinal joints and heavy-duty sealants at critical joints. These measures prevent significant leakage and pressure loss throughout the system.
Vibration and Acoustic Control
Structural noise and vibration caused by fan speed can affect not only component life but also operator comfort. Good designs take this into account, using acoustic insulation liners to absorb sound, stiffening cross-braces to minimise flexing, and flexible vibration-damping gaskets at critical connection points to keep noise and mechanical stress under control in continuous use.
Transformer Fan Parts Fabrication
One of our more specialised capabilities is transformer fan parts manufacturing, which has its own set of requirements. The fan shrouds, mounting brackets and airflow guides of transformer cooling fans must be made to close tolerances and withstand continuous operation in demanding electrical and thermal environments without failure.
Because the reliability of the electrical equipment depends so closely on its cooling system, there is little room for error in this type of fabrication. We handle transformer fan parts with the same attention to detail, fabrication accuracy and careful material selection that we apply to all our industrial fan and duct projects.
